Eritrea: Former Norway PM calls Isaias "Autocrat"
Former Norwegian Prime minister Kjell Bondevik

(VOA) A report condemning the government of Eritrea for domestic human rights abuses charges that between 30,000 and 40,000 Eritreans are being held in prisons in this nation of about 5 million people.

The report was released by the Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights. The center’s president and a former Norwegian prime minister, Kjell Magne Bondevik, called the results of the study evidence of “overwhelming human rights abuses” and urges the United Nations to investigate.

Bondevik told VOA`s Tigrigna reporter Tewelde Weldghebriel, "The core message of the report is to help increase the attention of the international community about the seriousness of human rights situation in Eritrea."He added that Ethiopia should be pressed to accept the UN’s proposed border settlement and Eritrea should be engaged as an ally in the war on terror.

Bondevik, who has visited Eritrea three times, said he first met Isaias Afewerki, Eritrea’s president, when he was a guerilla leader. He now says "the leader who had great vision about democratic Eritrea has turned to autocrat after independence."

What a Hell!!!1
it is sad to hear again again that the human right situation in eritrea is geting worse and worse. fortunatley th einternational community is geting involved in adressing this issue to the world.

it is realy sad that world communities are coming up for the right of eritreans in eritrea because we were not used to it.we have always fought for our freedom and finaly we end up with the worst kind of leader in our history. we simply have to find out how to get rid of this leadership.

The solution is creat a powerful youth organization and deal with the supporters of the regime all over the world the same way the are dealing with defenceless people in eritrea.

Above all truth is always on the side of the opressed.

God Bless The People Of Eritrea

Not only outcracy
Eritreans are dying of hunger, and the whole nation is a prison. No one has the right to express even of shortage of food. An Eritrean in the cities and towns is only entitled for one role of bread, which he/she has to sign for daily. The country produces wheat and barley and gets nationalised by the government for beer production, yet the people are not allowed to bake their own bread. It is sad, and the world is concerned why the people flee their country. It is hunger and starvation makes them prefer the shoot to kill bullets.

the sad fact is the politics of the region is so low that the average person is a price with their life. the only solution to old problem is look at it in a new light. I live in north america where it is comfortable life to live. I wish the region to achieve what i see here. one way to eliminate your enemy is to make him your friend. The first world countries made an agreement not to go to war against each other after ww2. may be the people of the region should be demanding their leaders to work hard to achieve the same agreement as the first world countries. what is the agenda of this organizations that have no impact on the daily life of the people in the region. how do they help the region?

where is the oromo autocrat?
good job isayas!
it takes a autocrat to build a nation from scratch! that is what we need in oromia to liberate our people from colonizers

mengistu was autocrat but did good to remove tribalism and crreate unity in ethiopian empire

the experiment failed

now we need to be autocrats until oromo identity is installed into all 30 million oromos and oromia is de-colonized

where is the oromo autocrat?
WE NEED ONE!!!!

Eritrea?
Your government and churches have been supporting the Eritrean independence movements stabbing Ethiopia at the back. Both Eritreans and Ethiopians have been suffering the consequences of your poisonous rhetoric and fascisiic support. Now you come out exposing Isaias after he caused all the suffering on the people on both sides of the Mereb River. Where have you been? You think Ethiopia's forfeiture of Badme, Asab, Massawa, may be even Axum and Bahar Dar would satisfy appease Eritrea's president? No, for you and him Ethiopia must not exist as a nation. That was you fascist plan and now you try to cover up with peace movement. You support all anti-Ethiopian movements and claim peace in the Horn? Please, leave the Eritreans and Ehiopians alone. They will sort out their differences in due time. May be they will be one country and put your mysterious fascisitic plan to shame.
